Celebrate America's birthday by sharing your story with the library and help write our book, "250 Stories, 250 Years".

This is your time to shine and celebrate your family's history. How did you and your family come to settle in the Matteson area? Do you have a family connection to anyone famous? Through these stories, the history of our community comes alive.

Stories will be collected from September 1, 2026 to November 30, 2026. Click HERE for the link to tell your story or pick up a form from the Public Services Desk (Adult Services Desk).

We are also looking for volunteers to help edit and assemble the stories into a book. Meetings are once a month for about an hour.
